2025 Royalty Contestants
Leah Simpson is currently in grade 11 at W.G. Murdoch School in Crossfield. She lives on her family farm North of town. Leah enjoys playing volleyball, having played with her high school team in the fall and currently playing on the U18 team with Bounce Volleyball Club out of Airdrie. She has been riding for 11 years and has owed her horse named Annie for two years. Together, they have competed in barrel racing at Pete Knight Days and the Didsbury Rodeo, as well as in barrels and poles at the Rocky View Ultimate Junior Rodeo and the Crooked Horn Canadian Junior Rodeo Association, qualifying for finals the last two years. Leah enjoys helping out on her family farm, riding snowmobiles, camping, and spending time with family and friends. After high school graduation, she is considering a career as an Alberta Fish and Wildlife Officer.
Sophia Cooper is 16 years old and lives in Rocky View County, Alberta on her family farm. She enjoys riding her horse, barrel racing academics and spending time with her family and friends. Sophia has spent the last 6 years in 4-H with the Indus Silver Spurs, connecting with her horse, growing confidence in public speaking, volunteering in the community and expanding her riding skills. Since she was young, Sophia has had a love for animals and a passion for helping them. This passion helps drive her towards her goal of becoming a veterinarian. She has been extremely committed to her studies, as she believes good grades and hard work are of the utmost importance to achieve her goals. All of these hobbies and skills contribute to her goals of becoming a veterinarian and growing with her animals.
